Website Design and Full Code-out

The Country Club of Birmingham was looking for a full website redesign. Beginning with leading an in-depth design meeting, I created high fidelity mockups from which I brought the template to life through coding.

01. Design Meeting

The research and discovery phase of this project was thorough. I gathered information from the client regarding user information, the target demographic, and any specific styles they wanted to use. From there we discussed color themes, typography, navigation, interactive elements, and any “must-have” items to incorporate into the design.

02. Vision Board + Theme

Taking our design meeting notes I created a vision board and fonts + colors slide to guide the rest of the design. Using Sketch I created color and font components to ensure consistency throughout the design process.

03. Homepage Design

The client asked for a very simple “above-the-fold” area for their landing page. They had a video they wanted featured with very little distractions around it. I created a simple navigation at the top with a bit of a dark gradient so it would not get lost against any lighter parts of the video.

The club has two golf courses - the East course and the West course. I chose a layout that would loosely resemble a compass, with the west course on the left, east course on the right, and the heading at the top. I added some functionality to scroll through the images should they want to feature more than one image per course.

 04. Internal Pages

The client requested two custom internal pages, which each reflected the style of the homepage while adding extra elements and content.
